• EMS Providers, some updates have just been released by the EMS Liaison at Winchester Medical Center (WMC). They are as follows:
    EMS Printer:
The EMS printer WMC supplies was not working the other day.  Somehow the wifi was disabled.  The IT staff can’t tell if a random glitch happened or if buttons on the printer might have been pushed, which may have accidentally changed the settings.
Please be sure to let Perry McAlister or a Communications Technician know when/if you have an issue.  If it does happen again, the comm tech can print your report needed for narcotics exchange until it's been resolved.  Let Perry know how the single printer is working in regards to freeing up desk space.
    Medications:
Due to changes in pharmacy policy, most comm techs are no longer able to pull medications from pyxis.  Here is the process for meds you may need to restock at WMC.
    Patients you bring to WMC:
    • Non-controlled medications:  see an RN on north team (nearly all EMS meds are in that pyxis)
    • Narcotics:  Charge Nurse

Patient Refusal Meds:

    • Non-controlled- charge nurse
    • Narcotics- main pharmacy
