Lord Fairfax EMS Council Mission Statement
The mission of the Lord Fairfax EMS Council is to promote a regional community-based emergency medical services (EMS) network that reduces premature death and disability from acute illness and injury through the coordination of local EMS resources. Our mission will be accomplished through teamwork, dedication, customer friendly staff, quality training, and by efficient and cost-effective operations.

Council Announces Next EMT Course


The Council is now accepting applications for its next EMT program set to begin Monday, April 23, 2018 and scheduled to finish Tuesday, August 14, 2018. Successful completion will allow students to be eligible to sit for the National Registry certification exam, also offered at the Council. The course will be held at the Luray Fire Department and space is limited. More

Release of MAI Training for Paramedics

maiThe Lord Fairfax EMS Council has released training for its new Medication Assisted Intubation (MAI). This training is intended for all Paramedic level providers within the Council's region who plan to utilize MAI. Two training dates in March have been announced with pre-registration required. This training is mandatory & also includes a refresher on surgical cricothyrotomy. Click here to register

Council Announces New Regional Field Coordinator

aorndoffThe Lord Fairfax EMS Council is pleased to announce that Amy Orndoff has been selected as the Council's new Regional EMS Field Coordinator. Amy is an EMT-Intermediate EMS provider within the Commonwealth of VA and also an LPN in VA and WV. Regional Field Coordinator Announced Dec 2017


Newly adopted Protocols going live October 1, 2017!

The Operational Medical Directors for the agencies in the Lord Fairfax EMS Council region have endorsed and adopted new Regional Pre-Hospital Standard Patient Treatment Protocols. The newly adopted protocols have significant advancements to provide for an increase in the amount of skills and patient treatment that can be performed by EMS providers within the region. Recognition of EMS Personnel Licensure Interstate Compact

replica statesThe Nation’s first EMS Compact announces the date of the first official meeting where the interstate commission will be seated. Please read the press release for more information. REPLICA has been signed into legislation in 11 states and the first official meeting of the commission will be held October 7-8, 2017 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The notice of public hearing for the proposed rule has been released. The purpose of the proposed rule is to establish a rulemaking process of the Interstate Commission for EMS Personnel Practice that substantially conforms to the principles of the model state administrative procedure act of 2010 and subsequent amendments thereto. The Recognition of EMS Personnel Licensure Interstate Compact web site can be found at:
