Lord Fairfax EMS Council Mission Statement
The mission of the Lord Fairfax EMS Council is to promote a regional community-based emergency medical services (EMS) network that reduces premature death and disability from acute illness and injury through the coordination of local EMS resources. Our mission will be accomplished through teamwork, dedication, customer friendly staff, quality training, and by efficient and cost-effective operations.

Council Announces Next EMT Course

 

The Council is now accepting applications for its next EMT program set to begin Saturday, June 10, 2017 and scheduled to finish Tuesday, August 8, 2017. Successful completion will allow students to be eligible to sit for the National Registry certification exam, also offered at the Council. The course will be held at the Lord Fairfax EMS Council's Training Center and space is limited. More

Council Brings Back Babysitter Training!

mc900232107The Council is excited to once again offer child and babysitting safety courses to school-aged students in the area. Targeted ages for these classes are students ages 11-15 years. Among the skills the students will learn are safety and injury prevention, babysitting as a business, and basic care giving skills. The child and babysitting safety course is certified through the American Safety & Health Institute. Successful class completion will result in a two year certification card. Regional EMS Award Nominations Now Being Accepted!

The Lord Fairfax EMS Council's annual awards presentation dinner will be held Wednesday, June 21, 2017 beginning at 6:30pm. We're looking for the best of the best & we need your help! Your mission is to find and nominate someone for a 2017 Regional EMS Award! Regional EMS Award nominations will be accepted in 11 categories, plus the Scholarship for Outstanding Contributions to EMS by a High School Senior in which the senior chosen will win a $1,000 scholarship! All winners will be advanced for consideration for the Governer's EMS Awards and Statewide Scholarship to be presented in November. We've made the process easier than ever this year! Nominations can now be submitted online! Nominations must be received by 4:00pm, May 26th at the Council office! More


Important Epidemic Advisory

An update on the current opioid epidemic was provided to the Virginia EMS Advisory Board by Dr. Marissa Levine, Health Commissioner for the Virginia Department of Health. It was noted that the current trend in overdose cases continues to be on the rise around the state. Opioid Advisory


Annual Report Released
